Newsquest Media Group, one of the UK’s leading regional media groups, has announced two new managing director appointments:Tony Portelli will join the company as managing director, South London, and Gary Kendall is appointed as managing director, Berkshire.

Tony will join Newsquest in mid January 2016 from Johnston Press, where he has been regional advertising director for the South of England. He has over 20 years’ experience of commercial leadership roles within the media industry.

Henry Faure Walker, chief executive of Newsquest said: “I’m really pleased that Tony is joining us. He brings with him a strong track record having been one of Johnston Press’s top performing sales directors for many years.

“In addition, this appointment enables Gary Kendall to take up a new role as the managing director of Berkshire. We purchased the Berkshire business earlier this year as part of our Romanes Media Group acquisition and we see plenty of opportunity to develop this business further.”
