The Newbury Weekly News, The Henley Standard and Baylis Media Ltd publishers of the Maidenhead Advertiser and Slough and Windsor Express have selected Miles 33 to deliver full multi-channel internet, mobile and print publishing systems.

These three separate, independent, local newspaper publishers are located in South East England, all within a 20 miles area west of London.

A common business requirement of all three publishers was to address a growing need todeliver content to multiple devices and channels. The VirtualCMS application (a WebCMS developed by VirtualCom Interactive, an acquisition by Miles 33) will deliver fully responsive websites to these newspapers, delivering web and mobile views of their content.

Baylis Media Ltd will also deploy VirtualNewspaper and PaperEvolution, the PDF-driven and Feed-driven mobile apps. These native apps offer the added advantage of off-line reading and can leverage the features built-into the mobile devices, offering enhanced monetisation opportunities while also targeting a different, mostly younger demographic.

Editorial content will be gathered, authored and edited in GN4, the web-services based editorial CMS. The full range of client options will be utilised by all three publishers, including GNXcapture, the mobile phone-based app for journalists and GNi4, the HTML5-based client that can run on browser, iOS, Android, Chromebook and Surface Pro devices.

Jeremy Spooner, MD of Baylis Media Ltd  commented “We have known of and tracked Miles 33 and their products for many years,  having looked at several Editorial solutions, it was clear that Miles 33 and their suite of integrated solutions matched our requirements”.

James Gurney, MD of Newbury Weekly News commented “Having recently joined Newbury one of my very first goals was to give the staff the best possible solutions to deliver upon their personal targets, making it easier to achieve more. Seeing Gemstone from Miles 33 and the suite of sales tools available it was really a simple and quick decision”.

Furthermore, using Gemstone, online Ad inventory can be better planned and managed as Gemstone will automatically alert sales staff of inventory availability at booking time.
